AI and financial limitations
How to use Oak responsibly
Oak turns authorised company evidence into explanations, scenarios and suggested actions. It is designed to support—not replace—responsible human financial judgement.
What Oak does
Oak calculates financial indicators from available company evidence and uses an AI model to answer questions or prepare requested analysis. It distinguishes ordinary conversation, short financial answers and formal CFO analysis. Reports identify the company, source period, evidence and known gaps where those details are available.
What Oak does not do
Oak does not audit the source ledger, independently verify uploaded records, guarantee forecasts or provide regulated investment, credit, legal, tax or accounting advice. A confident or detailed response can still be wrong. Missing information is treated as unknown rather than proof that a value is zero.
Customer responsibilities
Reconcile material figures with the accounting system, review assumptions, protect confidential information and involve a qualified professional where a decision could materially affect tax, solvency, employment, borrowing, fundraising, investors or legal obligations. Do not use Oak as the sole basis for an irreversible decision.
Reporting problems
If an answer appears to use the wrong company, invent a figure, omit a material limitation or create unsafe advice, do not act on it. Preserve the conversation or report, identify the source period and report the issue to Oak so it can be investigated.
